The Aare Gorge is a perfect and safe natural destination for: Individual visitors of any age, families, schools, clubs and groups. The information provided is multilingual for our Swiss and international guests.

Thanks to the Meiringen–Innertkirchen Railway (MIB), visitors can travel back by train, on a route running parallel to the gorge. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the MIB station ‘Aareschlucht West’ to the west entrance of the gorge. From the ‘Aareschlucht Ost’ station to the east entrance, it’s about a 10-minute walk via a hiking trail with steps. The return trip on the Meiringen–Innertkirchen Railway is included in the price of admission.
The hike through the entire Aare Gorge takes approx. 45 minutes. Visitors can travel back via a public hiking trail over the ‘Lammi’ pass. This signposted hike takes about one hour.

Through the most beautiful parts of the Aare Gorge, from the west entrance to the middle of the gorge, the path is suitable for visitors with disabilities and accessible with standard wheelchairs and narrow pushchairs. Dogs must be kept on a lead.
